"Explore Your Musical Self: A Creative Approach to Songwriting"
Retreat Leader: Caz Jeffreys
Arrival: 19th August 2017
Departure: 26th August 2017
“Submerge yourself in a ‘melange’ of creative musical potential. Explore your musicality through a variety of approaches, learn more about your own connection to music and song and develop ways to share your ideas with others. Try out new concepts in an environment which will embrace and work with your own ideas as well as feed you with new approaches to take away with you.”
During this retreat, we will work with song writing as our basis for exploring a variety of techniques, as well as working with harmony and how to create a particular sound, bring our playful sides out through improvisation, and use rhythm as a means of integrating our bodies and voices...and embrace anything else in this creative journey that comes to rise! There will be time for working alone and time for exploring with others, time for reflective thinking, indulging in that which you rarely find time for and for sharing experiences and outcomes. You are invited to bring a song which you would like to work on and/or receive feed back or support with and an instrument if you would like to use one. There is a piano available for use on the premises.
Caz ‘s creative and relaxed approach to her work has the effect of helping to draw out ideas, supporting the individual to establish meaningful connections to their own personal musical journey. Her work has brought her supporting those stepping into leadership roles, creating a nurturing environment in which people can build on their confidence and skills, together with a set of useful tips and tools to help them along their journey. Caz’s ability to adapt to each environment she works in keeps her approach and input refreshing and is an inspirational facilitator to work with.
